Hey Everyone!
So last Friday I had an interview with Omaha for a job position on the side to make some money. It was supposed to be a 30-45 minute interview and it ended in 10 minutes! I swear it was the shortest interview of my life. They asked me two really quirky questions such as, "If you were a zoo animal, what would you be?" and the other, " On a scale from 1 (not so much) to 10 (a whole lot), how weird would you rate yourself?" They threw me for a loop but I guess I did a good enough job to get the job! :) Now I'll be waiting for March to come around to hear back from my internship supervisors. Until then, keep up with me!
I'm soooooo happy for you Jill! This is what you've wanted to do for so long! Congrats :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am so excited too!!! :)
DeleteThis is the most interesting interview I have ever heard of! Excited to hear more about your adventures in Omaha! PS Kay and I want to feed the Penguins if we come visit you!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove,
Christopher
Hey Bro,
DeleteIt was a really fun interview. I had typical interview questions as well, but it was a fun one. I won't be working with penguins but if I get a day off, I'll try to see them with you! I'll be working with the small primates! :)
Hi I am interested in applying for this internship for the hoofstock and jungle exhibits, i was wondering if you wouldnt mind giving me some advice on how it was? Also did you have housing with the zoo? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, thank you for taking interest in reading my blog. I hope it was not only entertaining, but also a helpful resource to answer some questions you had about my experience. During my internship, I did have experience inthe Jungle so I feel that I would be a better resource to that. In terms of advise, what specifically would you like to know more about? In terms of housing, housing is available for free if you check that part on the internship application. If you would like to check out the application process, contact Kathy Vires through email. She is the person you would email in order to start the application process via kathyv@omahazoo.com. It might be a little late to turn in an application for this summer since at the moment, is reaching the intern candidates to approve the internship opporotunity, but it would not hurt to still apply since it is common that people have a change in plans after they apply. Feel free to contact me with anymore questions! You can contact me at herrigj@uwplatt.edu.
